Leafbusters commenced way back in 1992 when the gutter protection industry was still very young. The inventors of Leafbusters developed concepts and systems that are now used by Gutter Guard Installers all over Australia and New Zealand. Leafbusters are the original inventors of their own type of ski slope design of gutter protection, this helped to revolutionize the gutter guard industry.


History - Older gutter mesh systems focused on putting something in the guttering. However, the inventors of Leafbusters knew they couldn't fix the problem at the level of the gutters, becuase the issue was to keep gutters clear of leaves, pine needles, gumnuts, twigs and other tree debris.

PRODUCTS
'Diamond Mesh' was invented and designed in Australia by Leafbusters in 1991 and launched in 1992. The “diamond shape” mesh was good for its time. But in the year 2000, 2G UltraTech Mesh was developed. 2G was identifiable by it's reinforced edge to strenghten the join where the mesh is screwed to the gutters. The 2G gutter mesh product is the most advanced non-metal mesh ever devised, using two different polymers (patented formula) which superceded diamond mesh. Advances in technology have enabled us to develop a “smooth top” surface which reduces the problem of surface friction and allows the leaves and debris to slide off much faster than the before.


Fire Retarded Gutter Guard Product (Now superceded by metal Ember Guard)

Originally we were based in Eltham and then Olinda (a high fire danger area). Leafbusters was encouraged by fire conscious homeowners to develop a self-extinguishing fire retarded product - SEFR 2000 - 2G Fire Rating 2 conformed to Australian Standard AS3959 and tested by Australian Wool Testing Authority labs to world accepted test standard AS1530 part 2.
